Python pip install ends with "command errored out with exit status 1:…"

Question:

I’m new to python, and I’m trying to run some basic codes that require some libraries.
And when I’m trying to install a library (e.g. pip install matplotlib-venn) I get this long error:

I tried to reinstall python multiple times (I’m using the latest version 3.9).
I updated the path variables as I’ve seen in other posts.
I tried to run the same command but with pip3, same thing.

Answers:

Try updating the setup tools by

pip install -U setuptools

And this type of question is already answered here.
Check this too.

Answered By: NrdyBhu1

I had a similar problem while trying to run "pip install seaborn". The problem is that the new Python 3.9 does not provide binary wheels scipy and numpy do not as discussed here.

What I did was uninstall Python 3.9 and reinstall Python 3.8 and everything worked perfectly.

Try installing Microsoft Visual Studio C++ then

pip wheel matplotlib
pip install matplotlib-venn
Answered By: stax

I’ve got similar error in macOS, and resolved it by installing numpy beforehand with pip3.

try to update pip

python.exe -m pip install --upgrade pip
